Terms & conditions

1. About us

"Camera Centre UK", "we", "us" and "our" refers to Camera Centre UK Ltd, trading as Camera Centre UK, company number 03078868, operating from 14-16 Morgan Arcade, Cardiff, CF10 1AF. Our VAT registration number is 656021848 and we are registered with the UK Information Commissioner's Office under registration number ZB539989. Contact us on +44 (0)29 2039 4182 or info@cardiff.film.

2. Our service

We develop, scan and print photographic film dropped off at our Cardiff store or sent to us by post. In-store orders are created by our staff after your film is received. Postal orders are placed and paid for online in advance, and processing begins once your film reaches the lab. Prices displayed on our pricing page are guides; the final quote depends on the exact rolls, formats and services chosen.

3. Customer accounts

You may register a free customer portal account to view orders published to you by our lab. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure. We may suspend accounts used to abuse the service or breach these terms.

4. Payment

Developing, scanning and print services dropped off in store are paid for at the counter, cash or card accepted. On this site you can pay by card for our Premium photo storage subscription (£5.99 per month, billed monthly until cancelled), for prints ordered from your gallery, and for postal developing where that service is open to you. All online prices are in pounds sterling and include VAT where applicable; any postage or return-of-negatives charge is shown separately before you confirm payment. Card payments are handled by our PCI DSS compliant payment provider — we never receive or store your full card details. You will receive an email confirmation once a payment succeeds.

5. Cancellations and refunds

You have a 14 day right to cancel most online purchases under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, with exceptions for made-to-order prints and for services you have asked us to start. Premium can be cancelled at any time and runs to the end of the period already paid for. Full detail, refund timescales and our complaints process are on our refunds & cancellations page.

6. Turnaround times

Standard turnaround is 5–7 working days from receipt. We give best efforts but do not guarantee turnaround during busy periods, and we're not liable for any delays outside our control.

7. Liability for film

Film processing carries inherent risk. In the unlikely event of loss or damage to film in our care, our liability is limited to replacing the film with an unexposed roll of a comparable stock. We are not liable for the sentimental or commercial value of images.

8. Storage & retention of scans

Free accounts have 30 days from the gallery publish date to download their scans, after which files may be removed. Premium accounts have unlimited storage while their subscription is active. Full detail is on our retention policy page. If a Premium subscription is cancelled or lapses, the account is downgraded to Free and the standard 30 day download window applies to any galleries published from that point.

9. Community feed (Filmgram)

Premium account holders may post their own photographs to our community feed. By posting you confirm you own the copyright and grant us a licence to display the image within the feed. We may remove content that is unlawful, offensive, infringing, or otherwise breaks these terms.

10. Intellectual property

You retain full copyright of your scans and photographs. We only use them to fulfil your order and to display them inside your portal. We will never sell your images or use them for marketing without your explicit consent.

11. Data protection

We handle your personal data in line with UK GDPR. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under number ZB539989. Contact details, order history and scans are stored securely and used only to run our lab and portal. Contact us to request a copy of, or deletion of, your data.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision. Continued use of your account after changes constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
